The golden hour, also known as the magic hour, refers to a special condition of natural sunlight characterized by high diffusion, warm temperature, low incidence, and limited energy. In photography, the golden hour translates into soft light, warm colors, long shadows that gradually disappear, and a good level of contrast despite reduced dynamics. On the other hand, the blue hour represents a specific condition of solar light characterized by colder temperature and low energy. This results in subjects having numerous shadows, desaturated and colder colors, and an intense blue sky. The golden hour occurs when the sun is very low on the horizon, typically after sunrise and before sunset. The blue hour takes place at sunset or sunrise during twilight when the sun is below the horizon. The exact timing, duration, and intensity of these "magical hours" vary based on seasons, latitudes, and weather conditions. This app will assist you in identifying these magical hours perfectly.
